DiaspoCare Health Pods (hPods)
DiaspoCare's Health Pod (hPod) program deploys community-based diagnostic units in underserved areas in Kenya, enabling preventive screenings and early detection of chronic conditions.
What is an hPod?
An hPod is a technology-enabled community health screening unit operated by a trained hPod Technician. It brings essential diagnostics — including blood pressure, blood glucose, HIV, and malaria screening — directly to communities that lack access to formal health facilities.
Conditions Screened
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Kidney disease
- Asthma
- Malaria
- HIV
Funding Model
hPod screenings are funded through DiaspoCare's healthcare wallet system, with diaspora supporters covering screening costs for enrolled family members and NDAC community members.
